James Blunt has shared particulars about his father’s battle with stage four persistent kidney illness. The 45-year-old has unveiled the video for his newest tune Monsters, which is about saying goodbye to his dying father. Lyrics to the tune learn: “Whilst you’re sleeping, I’ll attempt to make you proud. So daddy, gained’t you shut your eyes. Don’t be afraid. It’s my flip to chase the monsters away.”

Throughout a latest look on Good Morning Britain, the musician opened up about his father’s illness and made a plea to doable kidney donors, saying: “I’ve come on right here to ask you what blood group you might be. Some issues have been occurring in my life that I wanted to put in writing about. My father has not been very nicely really. He wants a brand new kidney. And he is a kidney donor. And I’ve come on right here to ask you what blood group you might be. If you’re an O-positive I will take it off you.”

James additionally spoke candidly about his resolution to put in writing a tune about his father’s sickness. The singer continued: “Actually that has been an incredible second. As a result of once you realise your father’s mortality it is an awesome alternative to say the issues I would prefer to say to him. So I’ve written a tune known as Monsters for him. It says I am not your son, you are not my father, we’re simply two grown males saying goodbye.”

The sombre tune is taken from James’ newest album As soon as Upon A Thoughts. Talking about his resolution to incorporate his father within the music video, James defined: “Monsters is for my father who has stage four persistent kidney illness, so I requested if he’d prefer to be within the video with me.”

Monsters‘ music video was filmed in Oxfordshire and is as transferring because the lyrics. Within the video, James breaks down into floods of tears as he sings about his father’s sickness.
